Workshops in the square for kids: the Salvetti students' project

An afternoon of play and learning: in Marina di Massa, at Piazza Bad Kissingen, students and teachers from the Barsanti - Salvetti institute staged “Gioco di qua, gioco di là”, a family-friendly initiative designed to reintroduce children to traditional games while promoting social interaction and curiosity.

The event, supported by the municipality, featured students as the main organizers and facilitators of educational workshops combining fun with learning objectives.

Activities on offer

• Giradenti: a station-based route focused on oral hygiene and healthy eating, led by the dental technician course;
• Logic games and puzzles: challenges to develop critical thinking, organized by the Web Community course;
• Giro...tondo – Traditional games: hopscotch, skipping rope, kite-making and other classic pastimes led by the Health and Social Care course;
• GiroGiroColore: a creative workshop with GAMS (Gruppo Architette Massa Carrara) inviting children to explore Italian cities through drawing and imagination;
• Welcoming and documentation: Tourism students welcomed families while the Web Community course documented the event.

The day ended with prize-giving and refreshments offered by local sponsors. The initiative was highlighted as an example of youths’ civic engagement and a way to bring energy to the town.

Photo contest

Linked to the event is the photo contest “Ri-Scattando Massa – Il Giro d’Italia”, organized by the Tourism course to capture the city celebrating the race. The deadline to submit images (no selfies or retouched photos) is 21 May 2026; entries should be sent to [email protected]. Rules and details are available on the project’s social pages.
