An exhibition dedicated to Steve McCurry, one of the most famous and acclaimed photographers of the last century, will be held at Palazzo Pigorini in Parma from 22 November 2025 to 12 April 2026. The exhibition pays tribute to his career through a selection of his most iconic shots, capable of portraying humanity in its many facets.
Born in Philadelphia in 1950, McCurry trained at Penn State University and began his career as a freelance photographer in India. The turning point came in Afghanistan, where, risking his life, he documented the most dramatic conflicts and human conditions, gaining international visibility thanks to magazines such as Time and National Geographic. His most famous photograph, the portrait of the green-eyed Afghan girl published in 1985, has become a universal symbol of pain and human dignity.
The exhibition, produced by ARTIKA and curated by Biba Giacchetti, brings together photographs taken over more than forty years of his career, organised according to emotional affinities to connect distant worlds and cultures. Open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore McCurry's work and be captivated by the expressive power of his photography.
