Silence Is: Marco Rèa solo show at Street Levels Gallery

Opening: Friday 12 June 2026 at 5:00 PM. The artist will attend. The exhibition remains on view until Wednesday 30 September 2026.

The exhibition gathers about fifty works produced between 2013 and 2026, offering a chronological and thematic overview of Marco Rèa's artistic development. The selection includes canvases, reworked advertising posters, stencils, screenprints and the only two sculptures the artist has produced.

What to expect

  • Historical arc: pieces that trace Rèa's trajectory from early experiments to recent productions.
  • Techniques: spray, positive stencils, solvents, abrasion and screenprinting used to deconstruct and reconstruct the image.
  • Themes: subtraction as an artistic principle, the search for truth under glossy advertising and the celebration of human imperfection.
  • Pandemic works: works from 2020 characterized by sterile whites and frenetic line-work, proposing asemantic alphabets of proximity.
  • Recent phase: return to vivid color and fragmentation, with a move from two-dimensional supports to sculpture.

Why visit

The show reveals how street art languages merge with fashion illustration and contemporary research, producing works that balance public gesture and private inquiry. The route encourages visitors to look beneath the surface and engage with emotions expressed through subtraction and fragmentation.
