Selvatica 2026 – Art and Nature Festival

From 25 April to 19 July 2026 Selvatica returns to the Polo Culturale di Biella Piazzo with a program focused on nature, environmental protection and artistic expression. The festival features painting, photography and sculpture exhibitions, alongside educational workshops and related events aimed at raising awareness on environmental issues.

What to see

Highlights include:

  • John James Audubon exhibition: an exceptional group of around forty works by the American naturalist, showcasing bird illustrations from The Birds of America.
  • Alice Zanin's sculptures: paper and bronze bird sculptures created for the festival, in conversation with Audubon's works.
  • Photography: curated by Fabrizio Lava, featuring Zheng Xiaolin's poetic black-and-white series and selections from the Glanzlichter nature photography contest.
  • Installations and site-specific projects: including Michela Cavagna's The Sociable Waver, with sound contributions by Emiliano Battistini.
  • Scientific exhibition: "Aliens – The conquest of Italy by plants and animals introduced by humans", curated by Francesco Tomasinelli and Raffaella Fiore.
  • Competition sections: displays of finalists from Be Natural/Be Wild and the Nord Ovest Naturae Photo Contest.
