Everything Is Bright Here — Lucia Buricelli’s first solo show in Italy

Opening: April 10, 2026, 17:30. Exhibition period: April 10 – May 28, 2026.

Galleria Zema in Rome presents 'Everything Is Bright Here', a body of work shot in New York between 2019 and 2025. The exhibition showcases images defined by saturated color, direct flash and close framing that intensify the visual fabric of urban life.

Themes and visual approach

The series goes beyond simple documentation: color functions as a perceptual device that selects and heightens elements within the frame, revealing a metropolis where hyper-visibility exposes dynamics of consumption, accumulation and attraction. The compact framing and rapid photographic gesture capture small, unexpected urban details and render the everyday with theatrical intensity.

Exhibition highlights

  • Works from the Don’t Feed the Animals project (2024), reflecting on advanced capitalism’s effects on urban landscapes.
  • Direct flash photographs that compress space and amplify surface textures.
  • An investigation into how color mediates the viewer’s relationship with the image.

About Lucia Buricelli

Evolving from street photography, her practice focuses on image construction and the urban environment as a visual and social field. Her work has appeared in international publications and exhibitions across Europe and the US.
