Robert Hromec — Grammar of Gesture

Galleria d’Arte La Zaffera in Florence hosts "Grammar of Gesture", a solo exhibition by Slovak artist Robert Hromec that explores the body as a language and gestures as meaningful units.

The show brings together recent works and pieces from the artist’s latest seasons: urgent ink drawings that trace the rhythm of the mark, and large, material canvases where color and bas-relief shapes define faces and hands in dialogue. Hromec’s practice turns movements and touch into a visual grammar through acrylic impasto, layering, drilling and sanding.

Why visit

  • Sensory approach: the textured surfaces encourage reading gesture as a physical and emotional experience.
  • Consistent visual language: the exhibition lets you follow the artist’s development from ink to large-scale works.
  • Florentine context: a city with a strong drawing tradition that amplifies the dialogue between line and color.
