Special recital at the Royal Palace of Caserta for Europe Day

The Romanian Embassy in Italy invites the public to “Variazioni Musicali e Rapsodie”, a classical music recital scheduled for 9 May 2026 in the Cappella Palatina of the Royal Palace of Caserta (Piazza Carlo di Borbone, 81100 Caserta). The Royal Palace, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, provides a historic setting and excellent acoustics for the concert.

The event is part of the Romania–Italy Cultural Year and celebrates Europe Day, promoting cultural dialogue through music. It is open to the Italian public, the Romanian community and lovers of classical repertoire.

The programme will blend masterpieces from the international repertoire with representative works from Romanian musical heritage. The performers are three widely recognized Romanian soloists:

• Alexandru Tomescu – violin (soloist and custodian of the Stradivarius Elder-Voicu)
• Sînziana Mircea – piano (international career on major stages)
• Dragoș Ilie – classical guitar (award-winning performer and university professor)

The Cappella Palatina’s refined acoustics will enhance the expressive nuances of the performance, creating an intimate listening experience. The initiative also aims to strengthen Romania–Italy cultural ties by encouraging artistic exchange and highlighting shared musical traditions.
