As part of Milan Design Week 2026, the Order of Architects PPC of Milan presents a re-exhibition of Growing By Numbers through a light-box triptych by Paolo Cesaretti and Antonella Dedini. The show documents an urban lighting project that between 2010 and 2011 became a distinctive visual element of the city's skyline.
The original intervention turned skyscrapers into supports for large illuminated numerals made of numerous LED points. The nighttime effect, pioneering at the time, aimed to evoke an emotional image of a city in transformation rather than deliver a purely technical account. The project was selected for the ADI Design Index 2011 and featured at the XIII Venice Architecture Biennale in 2012.
The exhibition presents photographs and video materials that trace the project's development and urban impact, displayed as light-boxes. The installation highlights connections between design research, temporary urban reuse practices, and public perception of city spaces.
We suggest including this exhibition in your Brera Design District itinerary during Fuorisalone week.
