The Palazzo Taglieschi National Museum in Anghiari will open its rooms for the May Day long weekend, presenting guided tours that highlight the museum's collections of folk arts and local heritage.
The museum's openings align with the 51st Valtiberina Handicraft Market, which fills the historic town with workshops and stalls showcasing goldsmithing, wood carving, ceramics, leather goods, restoration and antiques, reinforcing ties between traditional crafts and the museum's collections.
As a focal point of the special opening, the museum will highlight a 1632 altarpiece by Matteo Rosselli, depicting the Crucifixion with Saint Biagio and Saint Francis of Assisi.
In addition to guided visits, the museum continues with maintenance work and online outreach: on 1 May a selection of ex-voto related to workplace accidents will be published on social channels to remember victims and raise awareness about occupational safety.
