Private cultural heritage and territorial development: national conference in L’Aquila

On 8 and 9 May the Oratorio di Sant’Antonio dei Cavalieri de Nardis in L’Aquila will host the national conference "From private cultural heritage to territorial development – Perspectives and opportunities for young people." The event is part of the Dimore culturali project and the official program of L’Aquila Italian Capital of Culture 2026.

• Date and venue: 8–9 May 2026, Oratorio di Sant’Antonio dei Cavalieri de Nardis, L’Aquila.
• Organizers: Municipality of L’Aquila and the Association of Italian Historic Houses (ADSI).
• Expected participants: more than one hundred young owners and cultural entrepreneurs, alongside institutions, businesses, professionals and researchers.
• Topics: new public‑private partnerships, enhancement of historic residences, territorial development strategies and opportunities for young heritage custodians.
• Opening: institutional greetings by Mayor Pierluigi Biondi and an opening address by ADSI national president Maria Pac.

The conference aims to connect private initiatives and local policies to turn cultural heritage into an economic and social asset, highlighting the role of younger generations in the care and management of cultural properties.
