European journalists visit Francavilla Fontana: art, Baroque and identity

On 6 May 2026 Francavilla Fontana welcomed a delegation of 19 journalists for a stop of the 76th Educational organised by Spiagge magazine. The visit aimed to showcase the town's artistic heritage, Baroque architecture and local traditions to an international audience.

• Reception at Castello Imperiali, featuring a demonstration of the local riccio confectionery craft;
• Visit to the exhibition "Barocco e Neobarocco. Da Rubens a Mitoraj", part of the Puglia Walking Art protocol;
• Walking tour of the historic centre, including the Basilica Minore del Santissimo Rosario, Santa Chiara and Sant'Alfonso dei Liguori churches;
• Participation of prominent international media such as National Geographic Traveler, QN editorial group and foreign radio outlets.

The local administration described the day as an important opportunity for cultural and territorial promotion. Deputy mayor with responsibility for tourism, Anna Maria Padula, noted that "international interest confirms the city's growing visibility." Mayor Antonello Denuzzo highlighted the value of long-term cultural planning: "We have something authentic to tell."
