Patù, a small town in the Lecce province, is experiencing renewed archaeological activity involving research centers, local associations and young volunteers. The local heritage ranges from Messapian and Roman necropolises to medieval monuments, feeding projects for conservation and public engagement.

Among upcoming events is the Corpus Domini celebration where, on 7 June 2026, Via Principe di Napoli will be decorated with petal carpets. In May and June cultural and musical evenings are held at Vereto as part of the "Vespri a Vereto" series, alongside excavation campaigns run by universities and regional museums.
