During the Easter holidays several state museums in Tuscany take advantage of the first-Sunday free admission to offer free entry on Sunday, while many institutions organize special openings on Easter Monday with regular ticketing. This creates a good opportunity to visit permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, monumental complexes and archaeological sites.
In Florence a number of museums remain accessible across the holiday weekend. At the Museum of San Marco visitors can see the rooms dedicated to the Beato Angelico and a curated display that reunites many of his panel paintings. Over the festivities, some contemporary works are placed in dialogue with the historic frescoes, enriching the visitor experience.
In Arezzo province several state museums plan festive openings:
Many museums pair visits with activities for schools, families and local communities: workshops, seminars and participatory programs. Some venues also provide accessibility tools, such as audio/video guides in Italian Sign Language (LIS) for selected works, aimed at improving access for deaf visitors or those with hearing impairments.
For up-to-date information on opening hours, ticketing and guided tours, consult the regional museums authority or individual museum websites before planning your visit.
