Easter in Castelvetro: landscapes, history and local flavours

For the Easter long weekend Castelvetro proposes walks through the Lambrusco Grasparossa vineyards, strolls in the historic center — recently listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy — and a schedule of exhibitions and special openings in local palaces and castles.

What to see and visit

  • Historic centre: self-guided routes with audioguides available for collection on Saturday 4 April and Monday 6 April at the IAT office in the main square (10:00–13:00 and 15:00–18:00).
  • Palazzo Rangoni: notable decorated ceilings and walls; nearby the parish church houses a 16th-century Madonna delle Grazie fresco (Monday 6 April guided visits at 10:00 and 11:00; free visit 15:00–18:00).
  • Levizzano Rangone Castle: guided tours of the historic rooms and the Rosso Graspa Museum, illustrating 20th-century wine and rural life (Monday 6 April at 11:00, 14:30 and 16:00).

Exhibitions and cultural offerings

  • "Fili d’oro a Palazzo": display of Renaissance garments crafted by volunteers of the Dama Vivente association — Sunday 5 and Monday 6 April, 15:00–19:00.
  • "Donne d’elezione, 80 anni di diritto al voto": exhibition in the Pake civic hall, on until 17 May; openings over the Easter break: Saturday 4 April 16:00–19:00, Sunday 5 April 10:30–12:30 and 16:00–19:00.
  • The Rosso Graspa Museum is also open for free visits on Saturday 4, Sunday 5 and Monday 6 April from 15:00 to 19:00.

Family activities

On Saturday 4 April at 15:00 the grounds of Levizzano Rangone Castle host an Egg Hunt for children, followed by a themed creative workshop. Early arrival is recommended and check for any participation limits.

Practical tips

  • Wear suitable footwear for vineyard walks and cobbled streets in the village.
  • Check exact times for guided tours and exhibitions; many openings are scheduled in the afternoon.
  • If interested in food and wine experiences, wineries and traditional producers often require booking — verify openings in advance.

When: 5–6 April 2026 (some activities and audioguide collection on 4 and 6 April).
Where: Castelvetro di Modena and Levizzano Rangone Castle.
Cost: many events are free; check for paid guided tours or museum entries.
