Palazzo dei Musei Modena: 2026–2027 exhibition season
The Palazzo dei Musei in Modena has announced its main program for the 2026–2027 season: two international exhibitions hosted in the museum's new wing, accompanied by educational activities and side events.

Robert Doisneau – Photographic Retrospective
Dates: 24 September 2026 – 24 January 2027.
The retrospective gathers about 150 photographs from Doisneau’s atelier in Montrouge, including archival materials and iconic images that trace 20th-century France. Curated by Gabriel Bauret.

Hokusai and His Time – Painting and Print (Edo period)
Planned period: February – June 2027.
This exhibition will explore Japanese paintings and prints from the Edo tradition. Curators are Francesco Paolo Campione, Marco Fagioli and Moira Luraschi, in collaboration with the Museo delle Culture in Lugano. Musical events are planned in partnership with the Philharmonic of the Teatro Comunale under the direction of Hirodumi Yoshida.
Practical information
The projects are supported by national and international collaborations; the municipality has allocated a public fund of €130,000 and editorial partners are involved. Educational routes and school activities are being planned.
