Palazzi Aperti in L'Aquila: third day on March 29

On Sunday 29 March L'Aquila, Italy's Capital of Culture, holds the third edition of Palazzi Aperti, featuring special openings, guided tours and events designed to highlight the city's historic palaces and their ongoing role in community life.

Highlights

  • Palazzo Cappa Cappelli – access to the piano nobile with frescoed rooms and period decorations; openings are supported by notary Giulia Torrelli and the Fondazione Giorgio de Marchis, which hosts cultural activities and an important 20th-century archive.
  • Palazzo Lucentini Bonanni – visit the Renaissance loggia and the workshop of luthier Gino Sfarra, a young craftsman who returned to L'Aquila to contribute to the historic center's revival.
  • Palazzo Alfieri – a notable example of the city's noble architecture, previously included in guided tours and rich in historical details.
  • Oratorio dei cavalieri de Nardis – another significant site for those exploring L'Aquila's monumental heritage.

Practical information

Guided visits require mandatory booking and are offered with a voluntary donation. Reserve your place via the booking form at: tinyurl.com/palazziaperti.
