The Italy Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition in Venice features "Con te con tutto", a project by artist Chiara Camoni with curatorship by Cecilia Canziani. Backed by the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, the installation brings together manual practices, traditional media and reclaimed waste to present a thoughtful perspective on contemporary Italian art.
The exhibition assembles new works and existing pieces made from terracotta, natural materials, recycled plastics, industrial waste and found objects. This material approach highlights the link between manual making and Italy's sculptural tradition, from ancient Etruscan forms to twentieth-century masters, emphasizing artisanal competence.
Within dimly lit rooms, anthropomorphic figures appear in formal or everyday postures, inviting direct engagement with viewers. In a contrasting section, discarded industrial materials are given new life and aesthetic function, removed from mass-production frameworks.
Why visit: the Pavilion advocates an art of attention, listening and measured practice, offering a considered contribution to the international scene and reinforcing the public role in supporting research-driven artistic practices.
Practical tips: allow time for a quiet visit to appreciate material details and the relationships among works; the installation rewards slow, observant viewing rather than quick scans.
