European Night of Museums at Castello di Giulio II and the Ship Museum

On Saturday 23 May the Castello di Giulio II and the Museo delle Navi di Fiumicino will take part in the European Night of Museums with extended evening opening hours. This initiative offers visitors the chance to experience local heritage in a different light, with a symbolic ticket to encourage broad participation.

The exhibition "In hoc Signo"

On the castle's first floor visitors can see the papal apartments hosting the exhibition "In hoc Signo. Christian testimonies between Ostia and Portus". Open from 21 May until 21 November 2026, the show highlights lesser-known finds—some displayed for the first time—that trace the spread of Christianity from late antiquity to the early Middle Ages in the Ostia and Portus area.
