European Night of Museums 2026 at the Archaeological Park of Ercolano

The Archaeological Park of Ercolano takes part in the 20th edition of the European Night of Museums with a special evening opening designed for schools, families and archaeology enthusiasts. The event allows access to collections and pavilions usually closed to the public and includes educational and storytelling activities.

Main programme

  • Special opening of the Antiquarium and the Boat Pavilion, with on-site lessons held by the park's scientific staff.
  • Theatrical reading by the Peter Pan primary school: "Heracles and the Lernaean Hydra", staged in dialogue with the bronze fountain depicting the Hydra.
  • Collective reading by students of the Adriano Tilgher High School: extracts from Song for Europe along the park's access avenue.
  • Educational activities and workshops linked to the local reading pact and the national campaign Il Maggio dei Libri, suitable for children.

  • 20:00 — "The perfect dish": guided visit-workshop (120') exploring ancient nutrition, aimed at families and children. Symbolic villa entrance: €1 (activity free).
  • 22:00 — "Panem et Condimenta": animated reading (90') about Roman recipes, remedies and food uses. Exhibition entrance with symbolic ticket: €1.
