Opening: April 18, 2026. The new Museum Mario Giansone in Sant'Ambrogio, near Turin, is dedicated to one of the most original Italian artists of the 20th century and aims to conserve, study and promote his work.
Housed in the former Maglificio Fratelli Bosio, the museum combines exhibition spaces with research and cultural programming. The permanent route, organised into seven rooms, highlights the diversity of the artist's practice — sculpture, painting, graphic works, hand-woven tapestries and site-specific installations.
The exhibition investigates recurring themes in Giansone's work: the rhythm and movement of jazz, the dramatic experience of war, fascination with 20th-century technologies, intimate subjects such as women, motherhood, lovers and cats, and a quest for transcendence. The tactile use of materials — granite, marble, wood, bronze and iron — is central to his expressive language.
Besides the permanent displays, the museum will host archival materials and research activities to support scholarship and public programming. For practical details such as opening hours, ticketing and guided tours, check official updates from the Foundation managing the collection.
