Emilio Salgari exhibition at Palazzo Einaudi, Chivasso

The exhibition "Emilio Salgari, a desk to run into adventure" is on display in the Galleria Cosola of Palazzo Einaudi, presenting panels, photographs, video material and artworks created by local participants.

Exhibition period: 10 April – 3 May 2026

• Venue: Galleria Cosola, Palazzo Einaudi — via Lungo Piazza d'Armi 6, Chivasso
• Opening hours: Thursday–Saturday 16:00–19:00; Sunday 10:00–12:00 and 16:00–19:00
• Admission: free

The initiative was developed as an educational and cultural project involving the local University of the Third Age and several secondary schools. The exhibition combines historical documents with contemporary artworks and theatrical readings prepared by students.

Contributions include scholarly research, archival footage for projections and collaboration with cultural institutions to frame Salgari’s work in its historical context.

• 16 April, 21:00 — Lecture: "From Il Corsaro Nero to Sandokan. Emilio Salgari and the colonial policies of his time" (Prof. Silvio Bertotto)
• 23 April, 21:00 — Book presentation: "The True Story of Emilio Salgari" (Prof. Felice Pozzo)
• 30 April, 21:00 — Salgari readings and dialogues, with selections performed by the Unitre theatre workshop

After the Chivasso showing, the exhibition travels to Caluso (Regional Wine Cellar) from 16 to 24 May, to Crescentino (Confraternity of San Michele) from 6 to 14 June, and then to Villareggia in November.
