Miart 2026: Milan as an international hub for contemporary art

When: 17–19 April 2026 • Where: Allianz MiCo, Milan. The 30th edition of Miart confirms its strategic role for galleries, curators and collectors.

The fair is organized around the theme "New Directions", emphasizing structured curatorial proposals and high-quality projects. Miart 2026 brings together 160 galleries from 24 countries, with an increased focus on experimental programmes and city-wide integration.

Highlights and format

A key addition is the "Movements" section, dedicated to the evolving dynamics of contemporary practice. Miart also strengthens ties with the urban fabric through satellite exhibitions, public events and institutional partnerships that make Milan a temporary cultural ecosystem.

  • Curatorial focus: clearly defined exhibition projects.
  • International participation: galleries and operators from 24 countries.
  • City–fair integration: offsite events and collaborations across Milan.

Intesa Sanpaolo and the Ryman / Schifano exhibition

Main partner Intesa Sanpaolo presents "Ryman / Schifano, Standard / Variations. 1960–1970", curated by the fair's artistic direction. The exhibition connects the fair spaces with Gallerie d'Italia, offering a dialogue between two distinct artistic languages united by a balance between discipline and improvisation, with nods to jazz influences.

Noteworthy is the special opening of the historic Gallerie d'Italia vault, repurposed as an exhibition space showcasing works from the 20th and 21st centuries.
