Mart Rovereto: “Anachronisms and Dischronies. Italian Art from the 1980s to Today”

Curated by Margherita de Pilati and Ivan Quaroni. The exhibition examines Italian artistic practices over the last forty years that operate with deliberate temporal disalignment. In a digital age of constant presence, many works inhabit an intermediate temporal zone where memory, myth and historical visual codes are constantly reworked.

The show highlights key moments: the return to painting and figuration with the Transavanguardia, the even more pronounced historical engagement of the Anachronists, and later pop- and media-influenced experiments that reinterpret traditional genres such as landscape and portraiture.
