Marinella Senatore in Venice: an installation built with the community

Marinella Senatore's We Rise by Lifting Others is installed at The Human Safety Net House on the third floor of the Procuratie in Piazza San Marco. The site-specific project emphasizes co-creation and community participation, using light, tapestries and public interventions to create an artistic and social itinerary.

What to see and how the work was made

The installation merges visual elements with collaborative practices: large tapestries produced by the Chanakya School of Craft in Mumbai, drawings created with the involvement of families and local groups, and lighting elements that evoke southern Italian popular festivals. The exhibited pieces originate from workshops and participatory sessions held in various cities, shaping the final presentation.

Workshops, partners and touring dates

  • Workshops: co-creation and training sessions conducted between December 2025 and January 2026 in places such as Warsaw, Mestre and Palermo.
  • Production: tapestries created by the Chanakya School of Craft in Mumbai for the exhibition.
