Venue: Centro Caprense Ignazio Cerio (Piazzetta, Capri). Dates: opening on the day of the spring equinox; on view until 9 June 2026.
For the centenary of Marilyn Monroe’s birth, artist David Parenti brings Marilyn 100 – Eternal Spring to Capri: a solo exhibition that probes the public myth and the intimate identity of Norma Jeane. Sponsored by the City of Capri and the Municipality of Anacapri, the show features about twenty works combining meticulous draftsmanship with baroque-like visions.
Parenti, known for a practice centered on pencil and graphite and for portraying cinema figures, does not merely reproduce an iconic likeness: he seeks to capture the mystery that makes Marilyn’s gaze a universal symbol. In the Cerio Museum the face becomes a field of study—isolated details and layered marks create a luminous, almost sculptural presence.
Practical tip: check museum opening hours and any exceptional closures on the Centro Caprense’s official channels or with local tourist information before your visit.
