On the centenary of the premiere of Turandot, artist Corrado Veneziano exhibits works dedicated to the opera's female figure. Installed in the foyer of Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, the show offers a contemporary, experimental interpretation that combines musical references, alphabets and symbolic imagery.
The exhibition is available in preview exclusively to audiences attending the open rehearsals and the performances of Turandot, creating a direct exchange between the staged production and the visual works.
The exhibition is curated by Francesca Barbi Marinetti and Cornelia Bujin, with the support of Iacovelli and Partners. Veneziano's paintings underscore the interplay between visual arts and music, showing how painting can reinterpret theatrical and textual elements from the opera.
Corrado Veneziano's practice spans international exhibitions and public projects. In this project he synthesizes his research around writing, music and image, exploring the relationship between alphabetic sign and musical notation.
