Galleria Angelica in Rome hosts "Mediterranean Echoes", a retrospective dedicated to Lino Tardia on the fifth anniversary of his passing. The exhibition traces the artist's development, from early Sicilian landscape studies to later material experiments and a renewed figurative language.
Curated by Francesco Ciaffi and promoted by Edarcom Europa with the artist's family, the project highlights technical features of Tardia's practice: layered surfaces, plastic interventions and frequent use of gold leaf. The works evoke archaeological memory and Mediterranean visual language, while engaging with Italian post-war realism and more anglophone approaches to figuration.
The exhibition is suitable for visitors interested in mid-20th-century Italian painting and contemporary material experimentation. Catalog references are available for those seeking further study.
