Lexikon of Contemporary Italian Art: inaugural volume

The volume 1 of the Lexikon of Contemporary Italian Art has been released by Guido Miano Editore. This project updates a longstanding editorial tradition by documenting and critically framing current practices within the Italian contemporary art scene.

The book gathers critical profiles of fifteen Italian artists, delivering a plural and timely overview of contemporary research. Featured artists include:

  • Margherita Casadei
  • Tommaso Cevese
  • Roberta Fava
  • Michele Frenna
  • Giancarlo Gioachino Giandinoto
  • Giuseppe Guidolin
  • Sebastiano Iervolino
  • Paola Marchi
  • Franca Maschio
  • Lidia Mongiusti
  • Filippo Pirro
  • Fabio Recchia
  • Marco Righi
  • Mary Tessarolo
  • Paola Zannoni

More than an archive, this Lexikon functions as a critical observatory able to interpret the complexity of the contemporary era and to spotlight distinct and coherent artistic trajectories across generations.

The publication continues the editorial commitment of Guido Miano Editore and complements the experimental Miano Officina Editoriale, a platform for exchange among artists, critics and curators. In 2026 the Guido Miano National Literary and Artistic Prize was also established to recognize and support emerging excellence.
