The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is being held at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria, thanks to last year's victory by JJ with the song Wasted Love. This year, the contest celebrates its 70th anniversary, having been founded in 1956; it is the third time the Austrian capital has hosted the event, following the historic editions of 1967 and 2015. Tonight's interval act will feature Celebration!, a commemorative medley showcasing Eurovision legends.
Italy enters tonight's competition backed by an incredible tradition of three victories etched into collective memory: in 1964, Gigliola Cinquetti won the festival with Non ho l’età; in 1990, it was Toto Cutugno with the song Insieme: 1992; and in 2021, it was Måneskin's turn with Zitti e buoni, a track that literally revolutionized the global perception of rock music.
Defending the Italian flag tonight is Sal Da Vinci with the song Per sempre sì, winner of the 76th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival. Sal will perform towards the end of the show as number 22 in the running order, which was announced at the end of the second semi-final on Thursday, May 14. Denmark will open the evening, while Austria will close it.
The live broadcast from Vienna starts at 9:00 PM on Rai 1, RaiPlay, and Rai Radio 2, while the official social media channels are those of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
