Dante Alighieri Society in Grosseto: thirty Italian language certificates awarded to migrants

The Grosseto committee of the Società Dante Alighieri awarded attendance certificates to thirty participants who completed a 40-hour Italian language and culture course (A1 level). Most learners were asylum seekers hosted in local reception centers, and this was the second course cycle aimed at foreign citizens.

• Participants: 30 people, mainly young adult asylum seekers.
• Course length: 40 hours, attendance certificate at A1 level.
• Purpose: to support social inclusion, access to services and continuation of studies.

The program was presented by committee president Letizia Stammati and vice president Paolo Bastianini. Gabriella Papponi Morelli, president of the Grosseto University Hub Foundation, emphasized that the certificate can be a first step toward higher education. The initiative, coordinated in its initial phase by don Enzo Capitani, has been described by local authorities as forward-looking.

Organizers report further requests and the possibility of restarting courses in July. The project is framed as a practical tool for linguistic empowerment and integration into the local community.
