Kid Pass Days 2026: a family weekend to explore museums

When: Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May 2026. Who it's for: families with children aged 0–12. The nationwide event offers hands-on activities designed to introduce children to art, history, science and nature through playful learning.

More than 100 cultural venues across Italy participate, offering about 150 edutainment initiatives. The aim is to turn visits into active experiences where children learn by doing, guided by educators and museum staff.

  • Types of activities: creative workshops, sensory experiences, family escape rooms, educational hikes, animal encounters and interactive tech exhibits.
  • Participating venues (examples): Reggia di Caserta, Acquario di Cattolica, Rossini Art Site (Monza), MART (Rovereto), Muse (Trento), Città della Scienza (Naples), Museo Canova, Ca' Rezzonico (Venice), Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo (Milan).
  • Highlights: escape room at the Reggia di Caserta, creative reuse workshops, Goethe-inspired tours, and activities run in partnership with educational stores and language centres.

Practical tips for families

  • Check schedules and book in advance: many activities require pre-registration.
  • Bring water and snacks, especially for younger children.
  • Pay attention to suggested age ranges (some sessions are tailored to 0–3, 4–7 or 8–12 age groups).
  • Review accessibility information and expected duration for each activity.

Organised by Kid Pass, a platform dedicated to family edutainment that operates as a benefit corporation, the initiative combines cultural tourism and educational entertainment. It’s an excellent chance to explore museums with children through play and discovery.

How to join: check the local programme on official channels or at participating venues, reserve spots where needed and confirm any fees. Enjoy your museum weekend with the kids!
