Kid Pass Days 2026: museums and family workshops weekend (May 9-10)

On May 9 and 10, 2026 Kid Pass Days returns, a nationwide initiative designed to bring children closer to art, history, science and nature through hands‑on and engaging activities. The event features roughly 150 appointments across over 100 venues throughout Italy, aimed at families with children aged 0–12.

What to expect

  • Creative workshops: hands‑on activities that encourage imagination and fine motor skills.
  • Sensory experiences: discovery paths that stimulate observation and curiosity.
  • Family‑friendly escape rooms: cooperative cultural games suitable for different ages.
  • Educational hikes and outdoor trails: activities to learn about the environment and nature.
  • Animal encounters and tech projects: interactive experiences that combine play and learning.

Sample participating venues

  • Royal Palace of Caserta (Reggia di Caserta)
  • Cattolica Aquarium
  • MART (Museum of Trento and Rovereto)
  • MUSE Science Museum, Trento
  • Città della Scienza, Naples
  • Ca' Rezzonico, Venice
  • Duomo Works (Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo), Milan

Practical tips for families

  • Check schedules and book in advance: many activities have limited places and require registration.
  • Respect age recommendations: some activities are tailored to 0–3, 4–7 or 8–12 age groups.
  • Bring water and snacks: useful between sessions, especially for younger children.
  • Verify accessibility and duration: each venue provides details on accessibility, length and any extra costs.

How to join

Check the local program on the initiative’s official channels or contact museums and venues directly to reserve the activities you want to attend. Kid Pass Days is a great chance to mix play with learning and to explore cultural sites with the whole family.
