From 9 May to 13 September 2026 the Museum of Oriental Art at Ca’ Pesaro presents From Water To Form, a solo exhibition by Japanese artist Keita Miyazaki. Curated by Pier Paolo Scelsi, Ilaria Cera and Riccardo Freddo, with scientific direction by Elisabetta Barisoni, Marta Boscolo Marchi, Daniele Ferrara and Stefania Portinari, the show explores material, time and transformation through the theme of water.
Miyazaki’s project sets contemporary works in dialogue with the museum’s permanent collection, highlighting continuities and tensions between traditional Japanese craftsmanship and contemporary practices. Water — as generative principle and transformative force — informs the site-specific installations conceived for the historical spaces of Ca’ Pesaro.
The exhibition also features a public art intervention at Crea — Cantieri del Contemporaneo on the island of Giudecca: a site-specific modular sculpture that rethinks modularity and the relationship between form and space, responding to the city’s productive and artisanal identity.
The exhibition is part of the broader Biennale program and provides an opportunity to see how artisanal techniques and contemporary research can reactivate museum collections, giving materials a renewed cycle of transformation and memory.
