"Italia di Moda" at MaXXI: 48 photographs telling the country's places

Italia di Moda is a photographic exhibition at Rome's MaXXI that employs fashion as a narrative tool to represent the Italian territory. The show brings together 48 images shot by photographer Andrea Varani and staged by model Ludmilla Voronkina Bozzetti, blending designer garments with distinctive regional settings.

The project, developed over more than a year, pairs pieces by renowned Italian maisons with natural and urban backdrops: Tuscan vineyards, Sardinian rocks, steps of Piazza di Spagna and other scenes that become part of a wider cultural portrait.

What to expect

The exhibition explores the relationship between body, space and culture: fashion functions here as a means to investigate local identities and memories. Images offer a contemporary perspective on Italy’s geography, highlighting both iconic sites and lesser-known locations.
