Infiorata of Scarperia 2026: Carlo Collodi's Pinocchio (45th edition)

One of the Mugello area's most characteristic spring events returns for its 45th edition: the Infiorata of Scarperia showcases large floral carpets and installations inspired by this year's theme, dedicated to Carlo Collodi's Pinocchio on the bicentenary of the author's birth.
Main program
- Infiorata: flower carpets and decorations along Via Roma and the main squares; creations are completed between Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
- Puppet show: "The Adventures of Pinocchio" by class 2L of Luco primary school, atrium of Palazzo dei Vicari, 11:00 (free admission).
- Family workshop: "Once upon a piece of wood" — free activity for children and families, atrium of Palazzo dei Vicari, 17:00.
- Exhibitions: Pinocchio characters (Pinocchio, Lucignolo, Geppetto) displayed all day in the atrium of Palazzo dei Vicari.
- Information stands: Municipality of Pescia and the National Carlo Collodi Foundation present in the atrium throughout the day.
Side events
Exhibition "Vices and virtues in the animals of Pinocchio" by Mauro Boninsegni, Palazzo dei Vicari — from 16 to 25 May 2026, 10:00–13:00 / 14:30–18:30 (admission charged according to museum rates). Additional theatre performances and artist talks are scheduled in the days leading up to the Infiorata.

- Entrance to the historic centre: free and open to everyone.
- Museums and historic sites: paid entry for non-residents; free for residents of Scarperia and San Piero (check museum website for current rates).
- Reservations: some events require booking. Contact Pro Loco Scarperia at 055-8468165.
- Accessibility and weather: the event takes place outdoors in the historic centre; organisers will communicate any changes in case of bad weather.
- Getting there: Scarperia e San Piero (FI). Use perimeter parking and explore the village on foot.
