The Museo Nazionale di Villa Guinigi, together with Palazzo Mansi, presents the exhibition "The King's Painter. Luigi Norfini in the Italy of the Risorgimento", on display until 26 April 2026. The monograph marks the bicentenary of Norfini's birth and brings together his paintings alongside works by leading Risorgimento artists such as Giovanni Fattori, Silvestro Lega and Telemaco Signorini, with loans from major museums and private collections.
The exhibition is organized into thematic sections that trace the artist's career and the cultural and political shifts of 19th-century Italy, featuring works depicting battles, portraits and scenes of bourgeois and aristocratic life.
