Cadegliano Viconago will participate for the first time in the international Art Nouveau Week. From 8 to 14 July 2026 the Valceresio area becomes part of a Europe-wide celebration of Art Nouveau, featuring special openings, guided tours and an exhibition focused on early 20th-century graphic arts.
The local program highlights two emblematic sites that will be exceptionally accessible: Villa Toletti (built 1900) and the historic railway station designed by Giuseppe Sommaruga for the Ghirla–Ponte Tresa line (circa 1915). These venues will host guided visits and events designed to immerse visitors in the artistic climate of the Belle Époque.
Complementing the visits is the exhibition “The Art Nouveau Poster from Metlicovitz to Mucha”, produced in collaboration with the Museo Nazionale Collezione Salce in Treviso. The show traces poster art, illustration and historical graphic materials that shaped visual communication between the 19th and 20th centuries.
The exhibition is curated by specialists in Liberty studies and the program includes accredited guides, scholars and lecturers who will lead site tours. Although the 2026 edition takes the sea as its overarching theme, the Cadegliano program aims to promote local architectural and graphic heritage and connect the area with transboundary cultural routes toward Canton Ticino.
Visitor note: check opening times and booking requirements for special visits in advance, as spaces and access may be limited and some events target specialist audiences.
