Anna Perach — Dis/Enchanted Interiors: first institutional solo show in Florence

Dis/Enchanted Interiors is Anna Perach's first institutional solo exhibition in Italy, staged at the MAD Murate Art District and the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology of the University of Florence. The project juxtaposes heritage and contemporary practices, favoring interdisciplinary languages and diverse cultural perspectives.

What to see

The selection gathers works produced from 2019 to the present: textile installations made with the tufting technique, wearable sculptures and site-specific pieces that address colonialism, exoticism, folk traditions, identity and the female condition.

  • Mother of Monsters — a narrative reworking that questions control over the female body through the corset image.
  • Alkonost — a reinterpretation of the woman-bird from Slavic mythology, balancing seduction and danger.
  • Uncanny Valley — embroidered heads evoking cultural memory and unease.
  • Dismembered Venus — reflections on the female body alongside archetypes and historical anatomical practices.

Events and activations

The opening on Thursday 14 May 2026 at 18:00 features performative activations of selected works: choreography devised in collaboration with choreographer Barbara Carulli, performed by dancers from Centro Culturale Garage P., with sound contributions by sound artist SADI. The artist also produced new works, including one intentionally placed outside the museum route to provoke encounter with the surrounding context.
