From April 1 to October 4, 2026, Fondazione Luigi Rovati in Milan presents the exhibition "The Etruscans and the Netherlands. A/R of the Corazzi Bronzes", temporarily bringing to Italy a selection of Etruscan bronzes from the Corazzi collection currently preserved in the Netherlands.

Location and practical info

The exhibition is installed in the Hypogeum level of the Fondazione Luigi Rovati Art Museum, Milan. The project is produced in partnership with national and international cultural institutions.

Highlights

  • Boy with Goose: a votive bronze depicting a child holding a goose, bearing an inscription indicating its devotional purpose.
  • Laran: a bronze figurine of the Etruscan war deity, dated circa 540–520 BCE, wearing armor and helmet.
  • Griffin: a 4th-century BCE bronze with a dedicatory inscription to Tinia, symbolizing celestial power.
  • Additional votive bronzes and cult objects illustrating religious practices and collecting trends between the 18th and 19th centuries.

Curatorial focus

The exhibition traces the history of antiquarian collecting and the movement of artworks across Europe, focusing on the Corazzi collection’s development from the 18th century onward. A selection of historical printed works accompanies the display, documenting scholarly reception and the study of the Cortona holdings.
