FAI Spring Days: what to see in Milan

When: Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2026. The FAI Spring Days are a national event focused on discovering cultural and landscape heritage: many sites normally closed to the public open with guided visits and themed routes.

Open sites in Milan (highlights)

In Milan several historic palaces and institutional buildings will be accessible. Highlights include:

  • Palazzo Turati – Now housing a fashion institute, the visit links architectural history with the story of fashion, showcasing notable interior details.
  • Palazzo delle Finanze – Spring opening allows a last visit before major renovation: notable features include an exhibited vault and an air-raid shelter rarely opened to visitors.
  • Scuola militare Teulié – Access to the main honor courtyard, the monumental double-ramp staircase in pink granite and marble, the Command Corridor and historic halls with views over Santa Maria presso San Celso.
  • Palazzo Beltrami – Usually closed to the public, visitors will be able to see the inner courtyard, the grand staircase, the ground- and first-floor atria and some historic institutional offices with period furnishings.

Practical information: visiting hours and arrangements vary by site; many locations require booking and have limited-capacity guided tours. Specific times and fees are not always published in advance—check the FAI website for updates and the full list of openings.

Tips for visitors: wear comfortable footwear for indoor and outdoor routes, arrive early at meeting points, and book in advance when possible to secure your visit. FAI Spring Days are an excellent opportunity to explore hidden corners of the city and learn more about its monumental palaces.
