From Water To Form: Keita Miyazaki at Ca' Pesaro

From May 9 to September 13, 2026, the Museo d'Arte Orientale Ca' Pesaro in Venice presents From Water To Form, a solo exhibition by Japanese artist Keita Miyazaki. The project focuses on water as a generative and transformative element, with site-specific works that respond to the museum's spaces and its permanent Japanese collection.

The exhibition highlights the relationship between material, craftsmanship and memory: sculptures and installations enact a dialogue between traditional Japanese techniques and contemporary practices, offering a measured exploration of time and gesture. The project also extends beyond the museum with a modular sculpture created for Giudecca, engaging with Venice's artisanal traditions.

Curators and project team: the show is curated by Pier Paolo Scelsi, Ilaria Cera and Riccardo Freddo, supported by a scientific direction team that guided the research and display.

  • Where: Museo d'Arte Orientale Ca' Pesaro, Santa Croce 2076, Venice
  • When: May 9 – September 13, 2026
  • Opening hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–18:00 (last entrance at 17:00)
  • Ticket: exhibition included in the museum route (check the museum for prices and concessions)
  • Extra: site-specific public artwork on Giudecca at Crea Cantieri del Contemporaneo

Why visit: the show stages a direct encounter between tradition and the contemporary through material practice and spatial dialogue. The site-specific installations use Venice's intrinsic relationship between water and architecture to transform the visitor's perception of space.

Practical tips: allow enough time to visit the permanent collection as well, verify opening times before you go, and consider using the vaporetto to reach Giudecca if you plan to see the public installation.
