FAI Spring Days: 780 sites open across Italy

The FAI Spring Days offer a broad program of visits with 780 sites opened to the public nationwide. The initiative features monuments, historic palaces, churches, gardens and archaeological sites — including openings and guided tours in the Cilento area.

What you can visit

The selection includes a variety of cultural assets, ideal for those interested in history and architecture or eager to discover lesser-known corners of Italy's heritage:

  • historic palaces and residences;
  • churches and religious complexes;
  • historic gardens and villas;
  • archaeological sites and monumental areas;
  • civil and industrial architecture.

Visits in Cilento

In Cilento scheduled openings and guided routes allow visitors to explore local monuments, private courtyards, chapels and other places not normally accessible. Tours are often led by volunteers and expert guides who explain the historical and artistic significance of the sites.

How to participate

  • Booking: many visits require advance booking through the event's official website or the channels listed for each site.
  • Contribution: you may be asked for a voluntary donation or a fee for specific events to support the initiative.
  • Schedules: always check the opening times and meeting points indicated for each visit.

Practical tips for visitors

  • Arrive a few minutes early to facilitate entry and group assembly.
  • Wear comfortable shoes: many sites have uneven floors or ancient stairways.
  • Verify any accessibility limits if you have specific needs.
  • Bring an ID if required and follow the behavioral guidelines provided by the guides.

Why attend

FAI Spring Days are a chance to access normally closed places, learn about local history and contribute to the preservation and promotion of the monumental heritage. Participation helps support conservation and cultural promotion activities in the area.

Practical information: for details on individual sites, schedules and booking procedures, consult the official program of the initiative or local information points.
