When: Saturday, April 11, 2026
Where: Valsorda valley, Gualdo Tadino (PG), Italy
An educational outdoor event will take place on April 11 at Valsorda, aimed at reconnecting young people with woodland ecosystems. Organized by the local naturalistic association ANG together with ASD Ski Club Valsorda, the initiative brings students and youth athletes into the forest under the guidance of naturalists and forestry experts.
The core activity involves identifying and naming trees: each selected tree will receive a wooden plaque bearing its scientific (Latin) name and common name. The program combines field observation with short expert talks to explain the biodiversity of the Apennines and the role of forests in environmental health.
This activity is designed to foster a lasting connection between younger generations and their natural environment, highlighting the importance of mature forests for biodiversity, soil fertility and carbon storage. Practical advice: wear trekking shoes, bring water and suitable outdoor clothing.
