This monographic exhibition explores the intersection of painting, fashion and everyday objects to trace Giacomo Balla's experimental trajectory and the impact of Futurism on early 20th-century design.
The exhibition brings together more than 200 works — paintings, textiles, furniture and garments — from the Biagiotti collections. The display highlights Futurist motifs (wedges, vortices, arabesques) applied to diverse materials and places these objects in direct dialogue with the museum's permanent collection to emphasize connections between visual arts, fashion and design.
Curators and layout: curated by Beatrice Avanzi and Fabio Benzi, the project is structured around the Biagiotti holdings to create comparisons between painted works and everyday objects, encouraging cross-disciplinary readings of Balla's practice.
Visitor tips: allow at least two hours for the visit; check the MART website for guided tours, workshops and any schedule changes. The exhibition suits both Futurism specialists and visitors interested in the intersection of art and fashion.
