Tourism Forum in the Gulf of Tigullio: a steering hub for the sector's future

The newly reopened Casa del Mare in Santa Margherita Ligure hosted the inaugural Forum del Turismo – Golfo del Tigullio, a two-day event bringing together national institutions, businesses, tourism bodies and maritime operators to discuss strategies for Italy's tourism competitiveness.

The forum framed tourism as a complex industrial system, stressing the need to combine natural and cultural assets with quality services, modern infrastructure and coordinated promotion.

Minister Mazzi highlighted the importance of organising tourism—spreading demand across time and places—rather than viewing it solely as a problem to contain. Maritime and port stakeholders emphasised the Mediterranean's strategic role and the need for investment in port and nautical infrastructure.

The forum, coinciding with the reopening of Casa del Mare, aims to become a platform connecting policy makers, businesses and local communities to build a more qualified and sustainable tourism model for the Tigullio and Italy.
