The Bergamo Book Fair, Italy's longest-running book fair, returns with 16 days dedicated to national and international publishing. The city centre becomes an open-air bookstore, showcasing independent local bookshops and offering a programme packed with author talks, presentations and activities for all ages.

• Organisers: Confesercenti Bergamo, Li.Ber – Association of Bergamo Booksellers, Promozioni Confesercenti, Sindacato Italiano Librai (SIL) and the Municipality of Bergamo.
• Duration: 16 days with over 130 events and more than 50,000 titles on display.
• Theme 2026: "Faces of Reading" — reading as a transformative and multifaceted experience.
• Young readers: 10 dedicated events including workshops, readings and shows for children.
• Music programme: two stages and 17 concert-reading events hosted in the Chiostro di Santa Marta, Chiostro di Santo Spirito and other evocative venues.

In addition to fiction, the fair features nonfiction, history, science, art, philosophy and poetry with speakers such as Luciano Fontana, Marco Belpoliti, Anna Foa, Silvio Garattini and more. The "Voices of the Twentieth Century" series focuses on three European women writers with readings and critical discussions.
