Commons Stewardship Festival in Assisi: over 350 registered from across

Assisi hosts national exchange on commons stewardship: more than 350 participants

From 26 to 28 March 2026 Assisi becomes a national hub for the Festival of Shared Administration of the Commons, promoted by the Municipality of Assisi, Labsus and the Department of Political Science of the University of Perugia, with the patronage of the Umbria Region and Anci Umbria. The festival aims to build networks among administrations, associations, schools and engaged citizens.

Events take place across the city — at the Teatro comunale Lyrick in Santa Maria degli Angeli and several historic buildings — and include plenary panels, ten working groups and public cultural events such as film screenings and concerts.

Main themes: forging alliances for shared administration and exploring the role of philanthropy in sustaining collaborative local initiatives for the care of common goods.

• Opening: Thursday 26 March, 16:30, Teatro Lyrick (institutional greetings).
• Key panel: “An alliance for shared administration: principles, tools, methods.”
• Working groups: 27 March morning sessions on collaboration pacts and shared governance practices.
• Evening events: public screenings and concerts, including the documentary “Anatomia di un grande sogno” and a performance by Vincenzo Deluci & Trio.
• Closing: 28 March, 10:00, Sala della Conciliazione, with the national “Patti x Collaborare” award ceremony.

Speakers and partners include designers, regional coordinators, third sector organizations and foundations — among them Ezio Manzini and representatives of the Consulta delle Fondazioni Umbre. Participation spans numerous Italian regions, with strong representation from Umbria, Lazio, Piedmont, Lombardy and others.
