FAI in the Marche: walks and workshops on biodiversity (22–31 May 2026)

From 22 to 31 May 2026, FAI delegations and local groups in the Marche region offer a programme of outdoor activities dedicated to biodiversity. Events include guided walks, visits to nature reserves, agricultural trails and workshops suitable for families, schools and nature lovers.

Programme — selected events

  • 22 May 2026 — Ancona: "Natura che rinasce" (Archaeological Museum of the Marche) — focus on habitats and pollinators.
  • 23 May 2026 — Montemarciano: "In the heart of biodiversity" — walk in the Bosco della Castagnola.
  • 23 May 2026 — San Benedetto del Tronto: "Biodiversity and memory" — visit to the Sentina Nature Reserve with a stop at Fattoria Ferri.
  • 23 May 2026 — Macerata: "Ancient fruits and biodiversity" — route at Azienda Agricola SiGi on traditional crop varieties.
  • 23 May 2026 — Rosora (Angeli di Rosora): "Walking the future" — exploration of the Esino river enhancement project.
  • 24 May 2026 — Ancona: "Biodiversity in Parco del Cardeto" — observation of plants, pollinators and birds.
  • 24 May 2026 — Genga: "Pineta di Monte Predicatore" — loop through century-old conifer woods.
  • 24 May 2026 — Sefro (Montelago): "Humans and nature" — walk across the Piane di Montelago to observe local basins and landscapes.
  • 24 May 2026 — Recanati: "Roots that endure" — meeting with a botanist in the garden on the Hill of the Infinite and wild herb gathering.
  • 31 May 2026 — Montegiorgio: "The Palio walk" — hike on the Viarum path with highlights such as the avenue of Calvi Cypress and Cascata del Sasso.

Participation and practical advice

Check start times, meeting points and registration procedures with the local FAI delegation or on the official event calendar before attending. Activities vary in difficulty; many are family-friendly and suitable for a relaxed pace.

  • Clothing: closed shoes or hiking boots, layered clothing.
  • Kit: water, snacks, hat and sun protection.
  • Behaviour: follow guides' instructions and respect local wildlife and vegetation.
