Archaeological excavations at Este's Area Olmo
The Municipality of Este, together with the University of Verona and under the authorization of the Ministry of Culture, has started an archaeological campaign at the site known as "All’Olmo". The fieldwork, coordinated by Prof. Patrizia Basso (Department of Cultures and Civilizations), runs from 4 to 29 May 2026 and aims to shed light on the route of the Decumanus, the Roman street linked to the ancient Forum area.
The excavation precedes enhancement works for the Parco dell'Olmo, planned to become a cultural and social hub with educational activities and community access.
