Guided Hike at the Montemarcello Botanical Garden

A half-day outing ideal for nature lovers who want to deepen their knowledge of Mediterranean flora. The circular route combines landscape, history and botany on the Montemarcello promontory.

Date & time: Sunday, 3 May 2026, from 09:00 to 13:00. Meeting point: 09:00 at the Montemarcello car park.

Route:

• Start in Montemarcello
• Visit and walking workshop at the Botanical Garden
• Return to Montemarcello (circular)

Duration & difficulty: approximately half day; rated as a hiking route (E), suitable for walkers with a steady, relaxed pace.

Guide & organisers: Hiking Guide Lisa Antognetti. Organised by CEAS of the Montemarcello-Magra-Vara Regional Natural Park in collaboration with Aquilegia Natura e Paesaggio Apuano APS.

The route crosses typical Mediterranean scrub and offers striking views over the Val di Magra, the Apuan Alps and the Gulf of Poets. The walk includes a practical workshop focused on identifying local plant species—an excellent chance to learn how to read the landscape and recognise key regional plants.
